Building / Licensing

The head of the licensing and building department is Mr. Lloyd Weyland. He can be reached at his office at 682-2221. This department is responsible for:

• the licensing of all non-resident businesses entering the city
• the licensing of all home-based businesses in the city
• the licensing of Direct Sellers

The building department uses the National Building Code of Canada (NBC), the Uniform Building and Accessibility Standards (UBAS) as well as City established Bylaws to help with the governing of all buildings in the City.

The following permits are required for all new construction:

• Development Permits
• Building Permits
• Occupancy Permits
• Plumbing Permits

This department is also responsible for Animal Control.
