Humboldt was incorporated as Saskatchewan's newest City on November 7, 2020 and celebrated its City Status on April 1, 2021
The City of Humboldt, being strategically located in central Saskatchewan, is known as a manufacturing and agriculture centre and also as a service centre. As a result of the community's diversified economy, the City has grown to become a focal point in the province of Saskatchewan, encompassing agricultural, industrial and commercial development in its economic make-up.
Features which make Humboldt an ideal location for commercial and industrial development:
- an excellent central location, strategically located in the heart of Saskatchewan
- a 25 acre industrial park which includes all services required by industry
- a large trading area population, currently in excess of 28,000 people
- excellent transportation facilities to major prairie centres

- the availability of education, medical, and cultural facilities
- equipped with a research facility, Prairie Agricultural Machinery Institute (PAMI)
