    Animal Control

Animal Control The City of Humboldt has a Dog and Cat Control Bylaw. All dogs and cats over the age of 6 months are required to have a tag. Animal Control The tag should be worn on the collar of the animal at all times. The tag will assist in locating owners of lost animals in a timely manner. A new tag must be purchased each year.

The Cost of the tag is $20.00. If the animal is spayed or neutered the cost of the tag is $10.00.

Every year a number of complaints are received regarding barking dogs. It is the responsibility of the dog owner to ensure that your dog does not bark, howl, or otherwise disturb any person. Animal Control

    Impoundment
Should a dog or cat be found running at large within the City limits, the animal will be impounded at the Veterinary Clinic. If the animal has a tag, the owner will be notified that the animal has been impounded and is waiting to be picked up. However, if the animal does not have a specific owner the animal is kept for 72 hours at which time it may be adopted out to a new family or euthanasia takes place.
