Parks & Open Spaces A.E. Kilcher Park 9th Avenue between 14th & 16th Street Play structure; open green space for mini soccer. This is a small community park on the north side of the City that hosts mini soccer and has a play structure. Bill Brecht Memorial Park Laskin Crescent & 3rd Street Open park space; ball diamond back stop; play structure. This is a large community park on the south side of the City that hosts soccer in its open park space and serves the needs of the surrounding area. Carl Schenn Recreation Park 12th Avenue near Flory Place Open park space; ball diamond back stop; large play structure. This is a large community park in the north side of the City that hosts soccer in its open space.
Centennial Park (Uniplex Grounds) 17th Street & Centennial Park Centennial Park features the following facilities:
Diamond #2 - red shale infield, above-ground dugouts, chain link backstop and perimeter fence, outfield 259 feet Diamond #3 - red shale infield, above-ground dugouts, chain link backstop and perimeter fence, outfield 286 feet Diamond #4 - red shale infield, above-ground dugouts, chain link backstop and perimeter fence, outfield 220 feet Diamond #5 - red shale infield, above-ground dugouts, chain link backstop and perimeter fence, outfield 200 feet Diamond #6 - red shale infield, above-ground dugouts, chain link backstop and perimeter fence, outfield 220 feet
Spectator Seating - 10 portable bleacher section, each with 75 seating capacity, used and relocated for various events in the community
Minor Ball Facilities - dual batting cages, men’s and women’s washroom facilities, concession facilities
Rodeo & Exhibition Grounds - full electrical services, outdoor sand-based riding arena 210’ by 112’, outdoor grandstand that seats 1,000, 60’ by 40’ barn facilities, concession booth, plenty of grassed area for exhibits and display. Civic Park 8th Avenue & Main Street Open park space; gazebo; walking paths; monuments; Heritage Garden; tables and benches. This park is located around City Hall in the downtown area. Between City Hall and the Library is Heritage Garden. This park is a nice area to sit and enjoy the surroundings, and has hosted a number of performances and social gatherings.
Glenn Hall Park 8th Avenue & 4th Street Features soccer/football/rugby game field, inside track area with full irrigated turf, 6 lane 400 meter track with crush base, practice field area, and a playground. This park space is next to the Public School; the area is used by the school during school hours and utilized by organizations after hours. Peace Park 13th Avenue & Brockman Place Small community park with a play structure and open green space for everyone to enjoy. St. Augustine School Grounds 9th Avenue & 12th Street Shared park space with school and community. Open green space; two ball diamonds; play structure unit and outdoor basketball courts. Green space for soccer and ball functions. The grounds are used by the school during school hours and after hours by the community. St. Dominic School Grounds 2nd Avenue & 6th Street Shared park space with school and community. Outdoor ice rink with boards, lighting and change area; soccer facilities; two ball diamond back stops; play area and outdoor basketball courts. Located on the south side of the City the grounds host soccer and ball functions. The grounds are used by the school during school hours and after hours by the community. Water Ridge Park On the Golf Course Road Open green space, treed areas, walking trails, flower beds, picnic shelter, gazebo and Spray Park. This park is located on the road to the golf course and just northeast of the campground. There is plenty of green space, a picnic shelter and gazebo for enjoyment of families and large gatherings. The park is next to a water front with a lookout. The newly constructed JCI Spray Park is now open. Wilf Chamney Park 13th Street & 2nd Avenue Small play unit and some green space. This is a small community park on the south side of the City. Outdoor Recreation Facilities The City of Humboldt Community & Leisure Services Department maintains a number of outdoor recreation facilities. Most facilities are for public enjoyment at your leisure, but to ensure that you have the usage of a sports field, it must be booked in advance. This also ensures that maintenance is completed to suit the user’s needs.

JCI Spray Park Water Ridge Park The newly constructed JCI Spray Park will be ready for use in Spring 2012. The Spray Park is on a 1,200 square foot concrete pad with several unique spray features.
Outdoor Ice Rinks St. Dominic School Grounds Enjoy the outdoor ice rink. The rink is 73’ by 180’, with graveled surface, boards, change area and lighting. The ice is in place from November to March (weather permitting). There is no charge for usage.
Outdoor Track Glenn Hall Park The track is 400 metres in length, with six lanes and a shale surface.Glenn Hall Park Field Facilities Features fully automatic irrigation system, goalpost for football/soccer/rugby, announcer’s booth and score clock. Practice field area (next to the game field) is fully irrigated.
Other Field Facility Areas Unirrigated natural turf areas are located at Bill Brecht Memorial Park, Carl Schenn Recreation Park, A.E. Kilcher Park and St. Dominic School grounds.
Tennis Courts Glenn Hall Park This park has three outdoor courts with paved surface and eight-foot chain link fence perimeter. There is no charge for usage. Fees and Rates Most parks are free to use at own discretion. There are bookings and fees associated with organized sports in the community.
