Weed Spraying
The City of Humboldt Community & Leisure Services Department will be spraying for weeds. Spraying will take place May 24th - June 30th. Please look for signs that will be posted noting: "THIS GREENSPACE HAS BEEN CHEMICALLY TREATED. PLEASE STAY OFF FOR THE NEXT 24 HOURS." Also, please remember to book your park space to ensure that the Community & Leisure Services Department is aware of events in order to coordinate required maintenance. If you have any questions or concerns, please call 682-2597.

Back Yard Pick Up Program
The Back Yark Pick Up Program will begin picking up compost on Monday, May 28th, starting in the SW corner of the City. Starting at a later date, the City of Humboldt will also be collecting and chipping tree clippings, branches and twigs. For more information, please click here.

Community Facility Development Plan Meeting
Wednesday, June 6th, 7:00-9:00pm, Uniplex Meeting Room
The Community Facility Development Plan Meeting provides an opportunity to discuss the future development of Centennial Park, which includes: Field House, second Ice Rink, Theatre, Ball Diamonds, Soccer/Football Field, Trails and Park Development. PolkaFest

Habitat For Humanity – Volunteer Blitz
Monday June 4th, 7:00-9:00pm, Bella Vista Inn
If you want to help, you have to register as a volunteer. There are jobs for everyone - builders, painters, people to make phone calls, people to sit at the registration table, child care, and people to provide and or deliver snacks.

Bike to Work Week: May 28th - June 1st
Bike to Work Week is soon approaching. A bike is a vehicle. As a cyclist you are expected to follow the rules of the road. Some rules and safe practices to remember when on a bicycle are listed here.

Summer Sizzler
Summer Sizzler festivities take place June 22nd - 24th at the Humboldt Uniplex. This year we are excited for West Coast Amusements to bring the Midway back to Humboldt. On Friday there will be the Midway, Battle of the Bands and a Cultural Stage. Saturday begins with a parade throughout Humboldt and continutes with the Midway, Demolition Derby and the Cabaret. The weekend wraps up with the Midway on Sunday. For more detailed information, please click here.

Needs Assessment VEMAX Study
Potential Revenue Losses as a Result of Labour Shortages for BHP Potash Development
The message is this: If the province fails to step up to the plate and help the region plan, fund and develop for a rapidly growing population base, then BHP may have difficulties obtaining the full time labour it requires to meet its production targets. If BHP fails to reach its production targets in a timely way, then the province will suffer a loss of tax revenues through lost royalties, resource taxes and corporate income taxes.
