2014 Budget Planning Underway - Council Approves Utility Rate Increase Posted December 2, 2020 Discussion and planning for the City of Humboldt's 2014 municipal budget is well underway, with Council approving a utility rate increase at the November 12, 2020 meeting. This will result in a 4% increase to the monthly flat fee; a 6.5% increase to the water consumption rate; and a $1.00 increase to the monthly Storm Levy. Residential utilities are billed every two months. For more information, including examples of user rates, please see the attached release. The utility rate adoption is the first of four budget areas to be approved. Decisions on the City's tax, capital, and operating amounts have yet to be determined. The new utility fees will take effect January 1, 2014.
NEW Humboldt Leisure Pass Now Available Posted November 20, 2020 The City has launched a NEW Leisure Pass card for three of the community's most used recreational facilities - the Aquatic Centre, the Elgar Petersen Arena, and the Fitness Room ... all conveniently located at the Humboldt Uniplex! The Leisure Pass provides unlimited admission to public open times for skating, shinny hockey, swimming, Aquacize classes and the Fitness Room on a month-by-month basis. The costs are as follows: Family $142/month; Adult $71/month; Student $43 month; Senior $65/month. Leisure Passes are available for purchase at the Humboldt Uniplex Administration Centre. Makes a great Christmas gift!
Humboldt Emergency Services Charity Event Seeking Sponsorships Posted November 20, 2020 The Humboldt Emergency Services organization, made up of the City of Humboldt Fire Department, RCMP, and Humboldt & District Ambulance Service, is once again hosting its popular Charity Event to support community groups and initiatives. Sponsored, corporate tables of (8) are available this year for only $240 and sponsors will be recognized through advertising and signage at the event. These tables are available before tickets sales open to the public. Businesses interested in reserving/sponsoring a corporate table are asked to do so before December 15. The organization is also accepting further donations to support its raffle draw on the evening of the event. Tickets sell out quickly! The Charity Event is February 1, 2014. Humboldt & Area Planning District Commission Approved Posted November 20, 2020 Following approval by the Minister of Government Relations, the City of Humboldt and the R.M. of Humboldt have formally established a Planning District Commission to deal proactively with growth issues within an approximate two kilometre area surrounding Humboldt's municipal boundaries. This Commission will allow opportunities for both partners to connect and build on regional strengths while also developing consistent land-use policies and zoning and addressing joint growth issues such as land use, transportation requirements, utilities, services, and other related matters.
2013 Toys for Tickets Campaign - November 15 to December 15 Posted November 13, 2020 Now in its third year, the City of Humboldt's Toys for Tickets campaign will run from November 15 - December 15, 2013. For those that receive parking tickets during this time, the City will donate their payment amount toward toy purchases for those in need in our community. The City will accept parking ticket payments - as well as further cash donations for the program - at City Hall (715 Main Street), during regular operating hours. Partners Family Services will receive and manage the funds from this year's campaign. Thank you for your support, Humboldt.
