MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF COUNCIL HELD

CALL TO ORDER:

Mayor Dennis Korte called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m.

CITY CLERK�S REPORT � BUDGET� INQUIRIES:

That the City Clerk�s report regarding budget inquiries be accepted for information.

MOBILE HOME LICENSE FEES � MINIMUM TAX:

That effective January 1, 2003 the minimum tax of $500.00 be incorporated into the mobile home license fees.� Further, that effective January 1, 2003 the City provide the following services to Sunset Estates:

a)� Spring/Fall Clean up for each resident.

b) Repair/Maintenance at the sanitary sewer system from the three manholes located on the north edge of the trailer park.

c) Repair/Maintenance of water services to the property lines of the trailer park.

d) That the private road located in the trailer park be included in the City�s regular grading program.

SASK. POWER � GRANT-IN-LIEU PAYMENT:

That the letter from Sask. Power regarding an extension of the grant-in-lieu payment for the City of Humboldt be accepted for information.

That the letter from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities thanking the City for renewing their membership and contributing to the Saskatchewan Municipal Travel Fund be accepted for information.

F.C.M. � MEMBERS ADVISORY:

That the members advisory from the Federation of Canadian Municipalities regarding F.C.M.�s policy priorities for the coming year be accepted for information.

HUMBOLDT MUSEUM AND QUILL PLAINS ASSOCIATION � SPONSOR TOURNAMENT:

Doepker/Malinoski:

That we deny the request from the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery Public Foundation and the Quill Plains Regional Recreation Association to sponsor their golf tournament to be held August 25, 2020.

WORLD YOUTH DAY � REQUEST FOR PINS:

Tuchscherer/Weyland:

That the students who will be attending World Youth Days in Toronto Ontario on July 22, 2020 be given 20 City of Humboldt pins as per policy, Further, that the students be advised that if they wish to purchase additional pins they are permitted do so at the City�s cost of $0.40 per pin.

That the letter from Mr. Al Gaetz� regarding the fruit truck parking on CN Property be referred to the Works & Utilities Committee for further review and consideration.

MUSEUM BOARD MINUTES:

That the minutes of the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery Board meeting held June 4, 2021 be accepted for information.� Further, that the City authorize the expenditure of $500 to enable Humboldt�s History to be included in the Western Development Museum�s �Saskatchewan Story�.

CABANAS � LOT PURCHASE:

That we deny the request from Elizabeth and Pedro Cabanas to purchase

Lot 7, Block 32, in Heidgerken Crescent for the amount of $17,000.00.

CONFLICT OF INTEREST:

Mayor Korte declared a conflict of interest in the following matter and left the Council Chambers at 8:35 p.m.

VILLAGE GREEN CONDOMINIUMS � MINIMUM TAX:

Weyland/Doepker:

That we approve the request from the Village Green Condominium Association and KBS Holdings to waive the minimum tax on the guest bedroom and the unfinished vacant space located in Village Green Estates at 602-7^th Street.

Mayor Dennis Korte returned to the Council Chambers and assumed the chair at 8:50 p.m.

MINISTER OF S0CIAL SERVICES � TERRITORY HOUSING OPERATIONS IN HUMBOLDT:

Weyland/Doepker:

That the Mayor be authorized to write a letter to the Minister of Social Services requesting clarification regarding his comments which indicate that all three employees at the Humboldt Housing Authority can be accommodated with employment in Humboldt.

REID THOMPSON PUBLIC LIBRARY � MINUTES:

That the minutes of the Reid Thompson Public Library Board meeting held June 12, 2020 be accepted for information.

LEISURE SERVICES COMMITTEE MEETING:

That the minutes of the Leisure Services Committee meeting held

June 18, 2002 be accepted for information.

PECUNIARY INTEREST:

Mayor Dennis Korte and Alderman Leon Doepker declared a pecuniary interest in the following matter and left the Council Chambers at 8:59 p.m.

PAY ACCOUNTS:

That cheque number 13393 payable to Gopher Books in the amount of $17.85 and cheque number 13394 payable to Graphic Arts Printing in the amount of $82.15 and cheque number 13395 payable to True Value in the amount of $168.79 be approved for payment.

That the Accounts Payable for the period ending JUNE 25, 2020 as represented by general cheque numbers 13330 to 13542 inclusive with the exception of cheque number 13524 and as filed in the accounts payable register be approved for payment.

RESCIND MOTION � MUSEUM AND QUILL PLAINS ASSOCIATION:

Tuchscherer/Doepker:

That the motion made by Alderman Doepker and Alderman Malinoski regarding sponsorship to the Quill Plains Association and Museum Foundation be rescinded.� Further, that the City of Humboldt sponsor a hole for the Humboldt and District Museum and Gallery Public Foundation and Quill Plains Regional Recreation Association Golf Tournament to be held August 25, 2002 in the amount of $100.00.
